I started this petition in a protest to the education system because I believe there are a lot of things that should be improved and changed so that the programs advance to the step of society and also adapt to each of the students.

We have the same educational system that was created in the eighteenth century and if we are logical people we understand that a long time has passed, therefore the education system should have been completely revolutionized, as in Finland, a country in Europe where has been able to understand the need for education today. It is time to understand that education can not be a mechanical system, but a human system, because we are not machines, but people.

One of the problems of education, apart from the fact that students are treated as machines that must be programmed in a certain way, is that they focused on linguistic, mathematical and scientific subjects, leaving aside the humanistic ones, and I do not dismiss the science, but should be given equal importance to all subjects, those that make us as people.

Another problem with this educational system is that it has focused a lot on evaluating, rather than teaching, and not that evaluating is wrong, but should not be the main point, but the diagnosis, the support that helps the teaching, not that obstructs it, as it has been doing. The end of education is learning, and if there is no learning then there is no education. And speaking of how to evaluate, every human being is naturally different, diverse; you can not pretend that all students learn the same thing at the same time, nor that everyone has the same level in all areas, nor that everyone is interested in the same subject. Factor that is not taken into account at all.

Now let’s talk about what is not education. To give a “forced” content is not to educate, to put in a program the same four years in a row is not to educate, to compel a student to study a subject that does not want is not to educate, to put pressure on being good is not to educate and to reprobate to a student for not passing an exam (for not having understood and not having received the necessary help) is not to educate.

It is also worth mentioning the discipline with which it is taught, the subordination, all with the purpose of creating servers workers of the system, a way to mold the people to fit in that.

Another thing that seems to me nonsense is that the educational programs are made by administrative, since I believe that what corresponds is that the programs are done by those who teach. And as a great educator has said, “Investing in the development of the profession of educators is not a cost, it is an investment.

It should also be mentioned that today schools are still like a jail, a place few kids want to attend and no one wonders why it is so tedious to go to school or why there are so many kids leaving high school. It is a totally isolated place of reality, isolated from everything, having to be the opposite. You can not learn “freedom” in theory and put it into practice when leaving the establishment, one has to be free in school, but not so, they tell you how to dress and what to learn, what to do with your life and thus can not pretend that we then make conscious decisions (like voting in elections, for example) when everything is decided for us.

There would be no alternative schools, alternative education if the current system worked properly.

It is a matter of caring for the students, because they can think on their own, choose, be creative, be free. It has to be understood that school does not have to be obedience, prohibition and subordination, but balance, respect, equality and patience. Do not generate competition, do not rush students, do not pressure them, stop looking for system servers.

Please stop playing with people and with education, all are more than a day of school, more than a note in a notebook and more than “future workers.” If education is not done in, it will be done outside. Thank you.
