Minors dragging and beating animal corpses through the streets, gloating on something as unworthy as to outrage and humiliate the body of a living being killed beforehand. Adult people posing before the camera - and presuming - to carry those same corpses, even holding their guts, proud, as if holding a trophy. That yes, with the face covered so that they can not be identified. This is what lies behind the carnivals celebrated jointly by two municipalities in Navarre. This is what is not told about what happens there every year and apparently, so far, has not come to light.
And we wonder ...
How far has the cruelty and sadism of the human being come? Are there limits? Where are they? Because it is shameful that this type of anachronistic acts and so low moral levels are celebrated in the XXI century. A society that considers itself "advanced", which claims to have evolved and left the Middle Ages behind, can not accommodate such savagery.
Animals have rights and deserve respect. And while they can not demand it, it is up to us to do it and give them a voice. The treatment of these lifeless bodies, more in a context of celebration, can not be tolerated or tolerated. What values are being instilled in children who are allowed to participate in something like that? In this way we intend to end animal abuse in our country, allowing children to see as normal and even fun to shake dead animals? Please, it's time to take action. The limit has long been exceeded.
That is why we ask that the abject use of animals be prohibited in their carnivals. We have nothing against them to celebrate, but not at the cost of humiliation and outrage.
We also ask that the Mayors of both municipalities to offer explanations of why they have allowed with apparent impunity that minors witness these barbarities and even get to participate. And if necessary, more decisive measures should be taken.
