For years I have been fighting this exploitation. I have taken more than 30 felines and chimpanzees, and the Mexican authorities continue to give permits for these places to have these animals. The responsibility lies with the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), since they grant the authorizations of the Management Units for the Conservation of Wildlife (UMA), and that must stop since many are awarded to crime to show off that they have exotic animals.
