Say "NO" to the fireworks with sound in Porto Seguro and the region
people signed. Let's get to 20,000!
Addressed to: Councilors of the city of Porto Seguro
Not only animals and people with autism suffer from this practice, but also the elderly, babies and the sick.
“The noise of the fireworks makes the animals despair. They run away, get hurt, have panic attacks, pass out, and some even die, such is the stress caused by the sounds of fireworks. ”
The party is good! And we should celebrate and enjoy these fun times. However, in most celebrations it is common to use fireworks, such as the June festivities, the August Pilgrimage, New Year's Eve, Carnival, at the many weddings held on the weekends on the beach and even after parties. soccer.
Fireworks have been a major concern for animal advocates, as well as for those concerned with the inclusion and well-being of people with autism. It is worth noting that not only animals and people with autism suffer from this practice, but also the elderly, babies and the sick. The impact is real and detrimental to the health of the most fragile and / or those with weak physical health.
Many cities have changed their laws to institute a ban on noise fireworks, making it a big trend for others. In fact, it is very possible to enjoy a beautiful fireworks display, without all the explosion and with a beautiful show of colors and brightness in the sky and without any sound.
One of the first Brazilian cities to incorporate the idea of fireworks without sound was the beautiful Campos do Jordão, in São Paulo. Since 2017, a municipal law prohibits the burning of fireworks with noise. The city of Poços de Caldas, in Goiás, has also started to perform the fireworks without noise since 2017. The municipality instituted the law alleging that it prohibits the burning of fireworks, in addition to causing damage to domestic animals, it also causes the death of the wild animals. Due to the loud noise, animals have the instinct to run away. Associated with poor nighttime visibility, many end up hitting trees or other obstacles and dying. In Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina, New Year's Eve 2018/2019 was the first to follow this trend, and it already promises to attract many people interested in contemplating a beautiful view, but without worrying about noise.
In addition to the huge impact on the environment, the misuse of fireworks causes serious accidents such as burns, amputations, loss of vision, and hearing damage. Between 2007 and 2017, the Unified Health System (SUS) recorded 5,620 hospitalizations and 1,612 outpatient visits as a result of accidents caused by fireworks. In the same period, the folder registered 96 deaths throughout Brazil.
It was along these lines that our councilman Abimael Ferraz - Bibi - presented Municipal Bill No. 003/2020, which intends to prohibit the burning and release of fireworks in the Municipality of Porto Seguro. With this, our city will be one of the first in the State of Bahia to set aside noise pollution and value the safety and well-being of the environment and its entire population.
Along the same lines, the animal protection NGO Anjos d'Ajuda prepared the petition to be addressed to the city councilors of the city of Porto Seguro, the Public Ministry, the judges and Mrs. Mayor to help preserve well-being, life and well-being. the environment, saying "NO" to strong fires and "YES" to colorful fires.
Now we count on you to guarantee the well-being of our pets, wild animals, people with autism and the entire population. It sounds simple, but you can save many lives and still encourage our celebrations to take place with much more brilliance and inclusiveness.
