They are beings that give us unconditional love, the best of them, and their very presence makes us forget sadness or discomfort. They only ask us to be part of the family. How sad to see them dying, hungry, run over and humanity simply covers their eyes or looks the other way.
We need to allocate public funds for the construction of shelters for stray animals, where they can be removed from the streets, vetted, castrated and given for adoption. Let these places be managed by animal associations, who know how to care for animals, love them and protect them, and not see it as a possibility to do business.
Please, we need this change for good, the whole society will benefit from it.
