These animals work from day to day under the worst weather conditions, and they also have to deal with their irresponsible owners who beat them and mistreat them by making them work without stopping to rest from the sun until late at night.
They were not born to work for people who do not want to work, they do not have to pull a car, much less to beat them when they are tired. Mares do not have to endure having to work until they are pregnant, to give birth in the streets. Horses do not have to endure their owners whipping them when they cannot even walk because they are tired.
Let us cut off animal abuse in Uruguay, prohibit horse-drawn carts.
