It's time to make an aggressive campaign on feline and canine possession. In addition, government and municipal authorities should punish drastically those who abandon or mistreat animals, as well as assist those agencies that are dedicated to saving animals in abandonment.
In Holland it was possible to eradicate the stray animals, and they did not kill them, they only needed to make the political decision to change what was necessary to achieve the objective. They enacted laws with harsh prison sentences and high fines for people who abandon animals, extremely high taxes for the purchase and sale of pets, and a free sterilization campaign. Three simple steps, and all the pain that the stray animals suffered, disappeared along with their number, and today Holland has no stray animals.
Let us follow the example, we are the ones who must pressure the Government to do everything in their power to help the stray animals.
