Reduction of car use in the Balearics

It is a fact that every day that passes increases the pollution in this our planet, and this leads to a social malaise and a health that little by little is getting worse.

This can only be solved by us, of course, if all of us cooperate to achieve our goal, reduce the use of automobiles. In the Balearic Islands, the most recent counts of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) put the number of vehicles on the roads at 938,331. A figure that practically leaves the average in a car per inhabitant, without having to add to it the undefined number of rental cars that circulate around the Islands without any control of the administrations. With regard to the typology of the set of vehicles registered and in circulation in the archipelago, the cars head the classification with 665,936 units. In fact, in the state ranking by provinces, the Balearic Islands is an outstanding leader with 603 passenger cars per inhabitant.

That is why this issue causes havoc on our island, since it lives on tourism and harbors more inhabitants (including tourists) than it can, thus causing more and more pollution, and not only environmental, but acoustics, due to the large number of vehicles. That is why we ask for help from all residents of the Balearic Islands, and we also have the help of honest people from outside to solve this big problem, we must cut it off at the root and prevent it from getting worse, thank you very much.
