Recognize Fibromyalgia as a disabling disease

Addressed to: Ministry of Health Social Services and Equality of Spain

For more research and information on fibromyalgia, and for it to be recognized as a crippling disease. We need to make visible our suffering since it is a real disease and has many pathologies, such as exhaustion syndrome and chemical sensitivity and many more.

Fibromyalgia affects approximately 2 to 5% of the Spanish population, so it is not something that is strange, we must all know someone who suffers from this disease. It is an anomaly in the perception of pain, so that they are perceived as painful stimuli that usually are not.

In addition, fibromyalgia can cause generalized stiffness, especially when getting up in the morning, a poorly delimited sensation of inflammation in hands and feet, and poorly defined tingling that especially affect the hands.

The disease has no definitive cure and the goal of treatment is to decrease the pain and treat the accompanying symptoms.

It is not easy to live with a disease that causes chronic pain, fatigue and daily stiffness.
