In the many Colombian municipalities there are people who are dedicated to poison street animals and domiciliary, since there has never been punishment for this cruel crime. Now that Law 1774 of 2016 has been sanctioned, there is no application.
People who torture and murder animals are a step closer to doing so with human beings, is demonstrated in countless studies and scientific research, as they seek vulnerable beings. As long as the state does not take the initiative and enforce the Law, citizens will follow suit.
About three months ago some people got into the house of Julia García, an animalist from Mosquera, and they poisoned several of the puppies that she cares for, one died, another dog went blind and luckily others could be saved. Julia's house is a shelter full of animals rescued from the street, and to this day the people who performed this terrible act were not detained.
We want the law to be enforced and these murderers go to prison, it's the only place they belong.
