Pets do not spread the coronavirus
people signed. Let's get to 20,000!
Addressed to: Government of the Dominican Republic and 1 more
The organizations and rescuers that work with Animal Protection in the Dominican Republic are shocked by the message that Supermarkets, Companies and the Media are sharing to guide the population about the serious problem of the coronavirus that affects us, since by putting in their messages that "they must not have contact with animals", an innumerable number of people are calling us to get rid of their pets or they are leaving them abandoned on the streets where unscrupulous people are poisoning, because they understand that dogs spread the disease !!
In a country where animal abuse is NOT punished or Law 248-12 is not respected, the few people who work for their welfare are collapsing with the facts and the scarcity of resources that we have.
We call on the Companies, Supermarkets, people and the different Media that are misinforming the Dominican population on this subject, so that they can change the message, eliminate this part and indicate to the population that
DOGS, CATS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS DO NOT SPREAD THE CORONAVIRUS.
Information confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as doctors and veterinarians.
