Petition for the humanization of production systems, transport and death of animals

Given that:

- The animals are sentient beings (Article 13 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.)

- Not to kill except in cases of extreme necessity;

- That the citizens have a right to their feelings for animals according respect to their own moral and religious convictions as recognized in the "Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (TEU) Article 10: Freedom of thought. conscience, religion and the right to conscientious objection;

- That in production systems, transport and death of animals control in compliance with Community legislation it is difficult to implement;

- That from birth to death often animals are in a box slightly larger than its body, deprived of freedom, sunlight and nature, living in an unnatural state and unceasing anguish;

- The animals are often abused, brutally pushed in transport affected the most sensitive parts, forced to exhausting trips, without water, food, exposed to heat and cold and die many of distress or exhaustion;

- That death occurs very often without prior stunning by captive bolt that secures the Unconsciousness: most of the time the animals are gassed or subjected to electric shock, or other processes that cause suffering;
