The carriage ride in the city of Palermo is famous, but what is behind this popular custom is scary. Horses are left hours in the sun, forced to pull the carriages all around the historic center of Palermo. Each year, at least one horse dies of fatigue and exhaustion, besides the mistreatment.
It is time to say enough. In the age of technology there is no need to make the animals work.
