Because it does not make sense for people who care about the welfare of animals that having eggs of free-grazing hens, buy the eggs of hens that suffer in cages because of the lack of options in many cases. If they really are in favor of avoiding animal suffering, all eggs should be free-ranging.
Fortunately, more and more companies are joining the sale of free-range chicken eggs, providing more favorable production sites for chickens. It is an initiative that seeks to improve animal welfare standards through the use of cage-free eggs in its supply chain.
We must all fight to improve the welfare of all animals, not only the pets deserve respect and care, the farm animals that suffer so much abuse should also be our priority when it comes to fighting for their rights.
