Laws that prohibit and punish traffic, the purchase and sale and capture of birds
people signed. Let's get to 5,000!
Addressed to: Government of Mexico and 1 more
By divine creation these beings were provided with a pair of strong wings, able to cross the sky and fly unimaginable distances. Unfortunately the egocentric practice of keeping captive birds has gone to scale and although it is a tradition rooted in many countries of the world, it is still abusive and egocentric. Only by human vanity, thousands of birds spend their short life in tiny cages where they see their best time spent enslaved, pass loneliness, abuse and even hunger. It's really sad.
And from illegal traffic, the demand and profit for these birds makes them the most vulnerable victims, with thousands dying only in the process of selling and transporting. The birdlife of Mexico includes an approximate number of 1088 wild species. Of these, 100 are endemic to the country, 6 have been introduced by humans and 52 are considered rare or accidental. In addition, 3 extinct species are included since the 20th century.
We need Laws that prohibit and punish traffic, the purchase and sale and capture of birds. Let's stop profiting from the animals.
