Indigenous children dying of hunger in Bogota, but are invisible to the Government

Addressed to: Ministry of Government and Colombian Family Welfare Institute

Because they are often used to beg. Those trafficked with this population, locate rather old indigenous women with babies or infants in different parts of the city to beg.

Today December 24, 2016, 6:45 p.m. On the stairs of the Estación Alcalá de Transmilenio this situation occurs: The elderly person with a baby that does not pass the 2 years, crying of hunger and cold while they use it to beg for alms. I did not take a picture out of respect for these human beings, who may feel attacked, but I was not the only person who saw them, because at that time many people came and went to the TM.

Who enforces the existing exceptional legislation for this population? Are the rights of indigenous children not prevalent or protected by the 1991 Political Constitution?

Of course, if an indigenous father can violate his daughter permanently and nothing happens, because it is protected in indigenous legislation. Why, when they are outside their jurisdiction, does not the Childhood Law apply to them? Are they or are they not Colombians?

Let us claim the rights of indigenous children, not only those of the guajira or those of the chocó. Those in Bogotá are closer to the authorities, but they seem totally invisible.
