If nothing is done, the polar bear could die

Addressed to: United Nations Organization

If nothing is done, this polar bear could die. Its survival is limited to a thin layer of ice...

Climate change, oil and gas extraction on the high seas, booming maritime trade, overexploitation of marine resources: every day, the Arctic is becoming more fragile and with it polar bear populations.

The disappearance of the ice cap forces polar bears to swim long distances to reach stable ice sheets or even dry lands. If the reduction in sea ice continues at the current rate, 42% of the summer habitat area for polar bears will have disappeared by 2050.

The polar bear needs us all.

We need to fight against the alteration of climate:

- promoting renewable energies.

- Establishing lobbying actions in favor of firm commitments to reduce greenhouse gases, in order to preserve the primordial habitats of polar bears.
