I believe that because of the number of dogs and cats, among other animals, that are rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico daily by independent rescuers without resources, there should be a veterinary clinic and health care center in every village on the island. These clinics should be maintained by each Municipality, where independent rescuers can bring their rescued animals in cases of extreme emergency.
Veterinarians in Puerto Rico are very expensive for a rescuer without money, so it is almost impossible to pay for their services. I think the rescuers who struggle every day to save the lives of our animals deserve help.
In Puerto Rico, the Government and its Municipalities spend money on things that are not necessary. I think a free veterinary clinic is of the utmost urgency.
