Fecal spills on our beaches in Palma de Mallorca
people signed. Let's get to 5,000!
Addressed to: Emaya
The beach of Ciudad Jardín is closed every summer many times because of faecal spills in the water produced by the rupture of a pipe. These come from the Coll d'en Rabassa treatment plant (Palma de Mallorca).
Apart from the infections that can cause to humans, these discharges also affect the marine fauna and flora.
In 2012 there were up to 13 episodes of these spills, leaving people unable to bathe and intoxicated animals. These discharges affect from the area of Cala Gamba to Can Pere Antoni.
The Emaya debugger has stated that creating a storm tank would be a good solution to avoid spills. But its construction is still pending.
In conclusion, we ask that these incidents be fixed as soon as possible so that the summer of 2019 and the following we can bathe without any problem and that in any case that this happens again impose a penalty.
