Because the bear bile farming industry in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and other Asian countries, is cruel and inhumane, causing needless suffering to over 10,000 bears, incarcerated in small cages and subjected to painful bile extraction for their whole lives. These poor bears live lives of hell, before they die from disease and neglect. I cannot think of anything more cruel and inhumane. The treatment of these bears is an international scandal. For too long western governments have been turning a blind eye to this barbaric practice. How much longer must these bears suffer for pure profit and greed? It is time to act.
