Because if we press the Government, Mayors, Governors and the Police, we can make the Law might be fulfilled, the beneficiaries are the animals.
In January this year came true the Law Against Animal Cruelty in Colombia. A Law that contemplates ensure that animals are not mistreated or treated as things or goods but as sentient beings.
The Law establish fines ranging from 5 to 50 statutory minimum wage per month for those who cause directly or indirectly suffering and pain to animals. It also establishes a penalty ranging from 12 to 36 months in prison, plus a fine, who cause death or serious injury to an animal, whether wild, domestic or tamed.
We have the Law and we now need to enforce it, that the police enforce, that municipal, provincial and national governments enforce it. We struggle so much to achieve this Law so that now not we must respect it.
For a Colombia without animal abuse!
