Cockfighting is not a "gentleman's sport", are shows for sadists

It's time to end this abuse! I want to make a petition to ask the Government to open their eyes and see that even in Rome realized that the barbarism of coliseum made civilization diminish.

Cockfighting in Puerto Rico are authorized by the Law of Cocks of Puerto Rico of the New Millennium ACT. 98 OF 31 JULY 2007, with the approval of the Senate during the Government of Anibal Acevedo Vila.

However, the Federal Animal Protection Act of the United States prohibits states and territories to display, purchase, sale, delivery or transportation, and promotion by mail activities related to cockfighting. Why this is not the case in Puerto Rico? Is it because of the money generated at the expense of the suffering of these beings?

The secretary of the Department of Recreation and Sports outgoing, Henry Neumann, said in 2010 that cockfighting, regulated by the Cockfighting Commission, is officially an industry that generates about $ 30 million a year for betting concept. The Department of Agriculture is in charge of this "sport" in which birds are the ones that do all the work, is equipped to meet the responsibilities of preservation and improvement of the race. In addition, it is undeniable that the Department, with its experience in developing the agricultural sector of Puerto Rico, is highly qualified to develop training programs for tasters, breeders and owners of fighting cocks. This also applies for the implementation of records of its components and the development of incentive programs, and helps promote development at the expense of those who pay taxes, we agree or not with the torture of these birds and joy those who profit from this.

Some of the rules are:

1. The fence judge will admit fighting roosters armed with natural or false spurs, except for "false black roosters spurs".

This Facebook page says that they can get a million signatures of people who like cockfighting, I challenge them and tell them I can gather two million signatures of people who do not like cockfights.
