The surgeon and former PP councilor Simón Viñals, who was in charge of attending and directing the medical service on the night of the events in Madrid Arena, was sentenced in 2018 to a year and a half in prison for a crime of serious recklessness resulting in death, in the form of professional negligence, in relation to the victim Cristina Arce. The Chamber included the special disqualification for the profession of doctor for a period of four years and the obligation to compensate the relatives of Cristina Arce de la Fuente in a total of 340,000 euros.
The sentence explains that by acting negligently, the risk that the young woman, who was transferred alive to the infirmary of the enclosure, would die due to the serious injuries she suffered after being crushed in the vomitory.
Knowing this, should we, the citizens of Madrid, bear that there is a street with the name Simón Viñals?
