More protection to animals and harden the punishments of those who handle them

We all know that in Spain dogs are lousy, whether they are greyhounds used for hunting and then killed, like the hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats that are abandoned year after year throughout the country.

We need to harden the penalties for animal abusers, it is imperative that something be done about it. We cannot tolerate that they continue to kill dogs and that only fines of a few hundred Euros and no jail will be paid.

And if we add to these problems that there is no single legislation for the whole country, we find that the same situations in some communities is a crime and in others not. How can this be regulated nationally?

We must protect the animals because we are to protect them not to kill and mistreat them and we have to unite to get it. May they be safe these little animals that do no harm to anyone. Who are the animals, them or us? Many would have to lock up like them because we are despicable and they teach us more every day that they have more heart than we.

We need a tightening of laws to protect animals, that those guilty of mistreatment and murder of animals pay with the jail. Please, we have to do something for the Government to listen to us!
