In Portoviejo, there are many abandoned animals, homeless or in the streets, in very poor health, and many families who wish to adopt them, but their scarce economic resources do not allow them to provide sanitary maintenance, vaccines and medicines required for them.
Veterinarians charge high fees for home visits, in addition to the expensive prescriptions they prescribe, and often, there is no means to pay for both.
In my case, I have two French dogs (a female recently adopted by abandoning her former masters and the male who suffers from allergies); one male cat and six female cats, one of which I adopted recently to find her abandoned and another, suffer from convulsions and will hardly be two months old.
If there were a public veterinary hospital with all the necessary equipment, medicines and doctors well remunerated by the State, we could improve the quality of life of our pets, taking them periodically for their care, treatment, tests and medication, and there would not be so much abandoned animal on the streets.
