Close the Zoo of Luján
people signed. Let's get to 5,000!
Addressed to: Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires María Eugenia Vidal and 1 more
They have the animals in a horrible state, they have them all day drugged, for people to climb up or put them close to take a picture, and they have no way to defend themselves, have them badly fed and in conditions that no animal would have to be.
The Zoo allows direct contact of humans with wild animals such as tigers or lions, and for this the animals are drugged, which causes depression and anxiety.
Zoo breaches Laws like No. 12.238, which prohibits feeding or direct contact with wild animals. Article 8 further states that "zoos shall be directly responsible for the safety of animals, the public and personnel as well as the infrastructure". The Zoo also violates the Criminal Law of Animal Protection No. 14.346, whose article 2 indicates that "They will be considered acts of abuse: to stimulate them with drugs without pursuing therapeutic purposes".
We ask the Governor of Buenos Aires and the Intendant of Luján to close this place and relocate the animals in sanctuaries.
